A swaggering song about (trying) to pick up women at a bar. “Putting the honky in honky-tonk,” as my wife says, it’s the Old 97′s with “Barrier Reef” from Too Far To Care.

Ok, I guess I won’t be breaking any new ground as far as reviews of the Old 97′s latest effort, Blame It On Gravity if I say that they guys are back in business and have reclaimed that territory between alt.country and rock that they used to dominate so well. There’s so many good tracks on this CD that it’s hard to pick favorites, but to put a stake in the ground, I’ll claim “The Fool,” “Dance With Me,” “No Baby I,” “I Will Remain,” “Ride,” and “Color Of A Lonely Heart Is Blue.”
