Since 1985 the Lonesome Brothers have been digging into the edgy side of country long before the term “alt.country” was ever invented. These homespun tunes sound simple and homey and yet the still have a gritty edge to them. Great music for riding down the road. Let’s hope this isn’t really their last CD. It would be a shame to lose such a great songwriting team in Ray Mason and Jim Armenti.
