Howdy,

New music going into rotation this week from the Jeff Gates band and Sasparilla. Check them out and let me know what you think.

I will be doing the live show as usual on Oct 31, which is Halloween, of course. But I will NOT be doing a show of cheesy monster mash-like tunes. I’m going to do an hour full of the usual hand-picked, road-tested american music. But if you are in the mood for some creepy Halloween themed music, I still highly recommend Southern Culture On The Skids’ Zombiefied.

Two new podcast episodes going into rotation this week because there won’t be one this week.

On episode 59 of the Taproot Podcast, Parker Roads talks about getting back to his roots after his indie rock days, his latest CD, Youngblood, and how is missionary father taught him to appreciate life on the road.

On Episode 60 of the Taproot Podcast, Arty Hill talks about changing the name of his most recent CD, his theory of what makes a song great, getting preloaded on a Ford, and why he had to write a song about drinking charcoal.

Dig Deep,
Calvin
