Howdy,

No new music into rotation this week because all my spare time has been devoted to rearranging my studio and lots of my new CDs are still hidden in the carnage of books, boxes, shelving, and bits and pieces of electronics. Fear not. I haven’t lost any of them. I hope.

One CD that I know will be going into rotation as soon as I can find it, or borrow it again, is the latest CD from John Howie Jr. and The Rosewood Bluff. Anyone who is familiar with John Howie from his Two Dollar Pistols days is sure to like the new sound. Still mostly a vintage country sound, maybe a little less honky tonk and a a little rmore thoughtful songwriting.

On episode 47 of the Taproot Podcast Mark Jungers talks about the upcoming Frio River Festival, how he came up with the title “More Like A Good Dog Than A Bad Cat,” and why he needed to write a cattle-rustling song.

Speaking of the podcast, one of the best things anyone can do for Taproot Radio is go over to the Taproot Podcast page on iTunes and leave a review. That helps people find it in the future which helps the artists I feature on the show. So what goes around comes around.

Dig Deep,
Calvin
