Already Gone by Boston-based The Kieran Ridge Band reminds me of Ryan Bingham and Hayes Carll with nods to Bruce Springsteen and hint of Irish rock ala Flogging Molly, which is a long winded way of saying this is damn good rock and roll. The opening track “Nothing Left To Lose,” has a dramatic, big stage sound. “Live is Hard & Love’s Unfair” is by far the highlight of the CD and they throw everything they’ve got into it. Mandolins and Accordions rarely get to rock this hard. “The Things You Said” features fist pounding acoustic piano work and wailing guitars that sounds like an old-fashioned tent revival gone off track. “When You’re Gone” features beautiful mandolin lines to conter the gravelly vocals. “Blinded By The Sight Of You” is a full speed ahead traveling song.
