Bridges is a gorgeously produced yet not over produced CD of acoustic songs that highlight Mary Flower’s acoustic guitar skills as well as her sultry blues vocals which earned her a nomination for Acoustic Blues Artist of the year. Some of her best work are instrumentals. I particularly liked “Columbia River Rag: and “Temptation Rag.” “Rhythm of the Road,” and “Big Bill Blues” are show off Flower’s talents. But the track that blew me away was her cover of Bix Beiderbecke’s “There Ain’t No Sweet Man That’s Worth The Salt of My Tears” a gem of a song from the 20′s.
