Happy Labor Day, whatever that means. Maybe "Happy End Of The Summer" is more appropriate, though I bet there's lots of folks who see no happiness in the end of the summer. As for me, I usually enjoy warm weather more than cold, so I'm usually lamenting the end of summer. But for some reason, I'm kinda looking forward to the fall this year.
I added Dan Penn's 2007 release into rotation this week. Slow moving and bluesy is how I'd describe it. There's a casualness to it that I like, plus lots of wonderful oneliners. Normally I only put recent releases into the Focus Tracks, but heck. rules are meant to be broken and who else would you break rules for if not Mr. "Dark End Of The Street"?
