Earl Musick and Mark Merrit are two more artists that are buying into the record it live in the studio and forget the endless post production processing. On Woodshed’n, they set up a couple of microphones in the studio and sat down with their bassist and drummer and just started recording. The result is a set of Texas singer/songwriter songs that range from dramatic open sky songs that could be a movie soundtrack to downhome string band music. Highlights for me are “Fair Fight,” “Take A Number,” and especially “When She Leaves.”
