Walls Fall Down by Kimmie Rhodes

Kimmie Rhodes is a long time fixture of the Austin country music scene and her songs have been covered by the likes of Wynonna Ryder. Townes Van Zandt, Tricia Yearwood and Willie Nelson. On her latest CD, Walls Fall Down, her beautiful soaring voice reminds me a lot of Tift Merrit and occasionally Kasey Chambers. My favorites on this CD are the title track, “Shining Like A Sun,” and the cover of Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You.”
