On this second release, JD and the Straight Shot dig deeper into their blues rock groove burning base lines, howling harmonica, and smoky electric guitars. Joe Walsh is the guest lead guitarist on the lead single, “Slow Motion In Reverse.” But I’m into the more bluesy numbers like “Train’s A Comin’,” “Lie No Better.” There’s also a cover of Dave Alvin’s “Long White Cadillac,” done with a deep twang infusion.
