This week was the week for catching up on releases from last year that I missed and boy am I glad I did. Just when I think I’m completely done with rock, along comes a band that renews my faith in it. This time it’s the Ike Reilly Assassination. The other great CD that I’m belatedly getting into rotation is the Jesse Sykes’s Like, Love, Lust and the Open Halls of the Soul, whom I’ll just summarize by saying she’s the Kate Bush of the indie folks scene. Also added Levon Helm’s CD, Dirt Farmer, which I enjoyed but I kept thinking to myself i’d much rather be listening to Malcolm Holcombe instead.
Had a big oops this week on the web cast. Accidently included a song that had a bad word in it. And I mean a Really Bad Word. I pulled it off the air as soon as I found out. But hopefully no one got bent out of shape over it. Live and learn.
